狗說英語 Dogs' English

主人說宜蘭運動公園占地二十七公頃，有精心設計的大草坪，非常適合我們去遊玩，只要處理好便便。我們特別喜歡園內的火車頭，聽說它自民國四十二年起，奔駛於基隆至高雄間，時速可達百餘公里。公園風景優美，到處都有我們最愛的樹木 (可以抬腳尿一下)。今天雖然沒有藍天白雲，但是綠草如茵的大草坪已經夠讓我們舒展筋骨了。

As long as our stools are properly handled, my owner says Yi-lan Sports Park is a suitable place for us because it covers twenty-seven acres with well-designed large lawns. We particularly like the locomotive. People said it had driven between Keelung to Kaohsiung since 1953 at a top speed up to hundreds of kilometers. This scenic park is full of our favorite trees everywhere (a good place for our urine). Today it is not a blue sky with white clouds, but the large grassy lawn is enough for us to exercise.

今早前往一處可以讓我們盡情遊玩的的好地方 - 新北市石碇淡蘭古道。它是清代就存在的要道。在「淡蘭古道藝文館」的對面，進去就可找到淡蘭古道的入口。遠遠看著吊橋，下方綠澄澄的溪水真是清澈乾淨。沿途大自然風光令人陶醉。這次沒有走到吊橋，下次有機會再來征服。 

                                                                                                This morning we went to a good place where we enjoyed the trip a lot – DanLan Ancient Road ShiDing Section in New Taipei City. It has existed since the Qing Dynasty. Opposite to DanLan Art Museum, we found the entrance leading to the trail. We saw a suspension bridge that seemed far away and the stream was really clear and clean. Moreover, the natural scenery along the way was fascinating. This time we did not reach to the bridge, maybe next time we would conquer it.

今天路過台灣第一個以休閒觀光為目的冬山火車站。這高架的造型好像是我家的瓜棚。主人說那是「綠色隧道」，可是......樹在那裡呢? 我們很想坐火車，結果無法如願，只好坐在大風箏下看火車。候車室有兩位妹妹一直熱切地要和我們拍照，我們挺開心可以暫時有明星的光采。

Today we passed Dongshan Railway Station; Taiwan's first railway station was made for leisure purposes. The elevated style seemed to be the melon canopy at home. My owner said it was “A Green Tunnel”; however, where were the trees? We would like to take the train, but the result was not satisfactory. So we decided to sit down under a huge kite to see the train. Two young girls in the waiting room wanted to take pictures with us eagerly. We were very happy to be a star temporarily.

今天下午我們去宜蘭港澳(蘇澳港-南方澳)半日遊。主人說要買新鮮漁貨給流浪貓吃，就到當地的漁貨巿場選購，順道體會一下南方澳的風土民情。豆腐岬小海灣是買完魚貨的第二站。它位於南方澳東側，風景優美，浪小波靜，適合戲水、浮潛、郊遊等活動。附近的跨海大橋是亞洲第一座單樑懸吊橋，連接蘇澳港與南方澳港。第三站內埤海邊是觀賞旭日東昇、瑰奇炫麗晚霞的絕佳景點。最後，我主人想去南天宮媽祖廟祈求每個人的健康。南天宮媽祖廟在1956年落成，香火鼎盛，是南方澳的地標。可惜我們不能進入看玉媽祖和媽祖金身神像（全身皆為純金打造，重達200公斤）。不過我們有在廟外拜拜喔!

We spent half day visiting Nanfang-ao (a fishing harbor in the eastern Taiwan) this afternoon. My owner would like to buy fresh fish for stray cats, so we went to the local market and took the opportunity to experience the culture of Nanfang-ao. After purchasing, we visited scenic Tofu Cove, located in the eastern side of Nanfang-ao. The wave was quiet and suitable for swimming, snorkeling, picnicking and other activities. Near Tofu Cove, there was a bridge, Asia's first single girder suspension bridge, connecting Suao Port and Harbor Nanfang-ao. The third place we visited was Ne Pi Beach; it was a wondeful spot to watch the rising sun and dazzling sunset. At last, my owner said Matsu (the sea goddess) Temple, built in 1956, was the landmark of Nangang-ao. She would like to visit it and prayed for everyone’s health. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to enter, so we did not have the chance to see Jade Matsu and the gilded statue of Mazu (the body were all pure gold and weighed 200 kilograms). It was fine for us to pray outside the temple.

宜蘭大學大礁溪實驗林場面積廣達170餘公頃，是提供森林系學生的實習場所。林場資源豐富，空氣清新，視野極佳。林場下方有一小溪谷，山泉清澈。據聞早期溪谷裡曾盛產蘭花，處處飄香，「蘭花谷」之名不脛而走。台灣獼猴、野豬、松鼠、飛鼠成群在森林中穿梭跳躍。它們是我們吠叫的對象。

The experimental forest owned by Yilan University broadly reaches 170 hectares, providing a practice place for students who major forests. It is famous for the rich resources, the fresh air, and the amazing view. Underneath the forest is a small ravine with limpid mountain spring. People said in the early time the ravine was full of orchids and everywhere smelled so sweet that “The Orchid Valley” was named. Moreover, Taiwan macaques, wild boars, squirrels, and flying squirrels shuttle through the forest. We like barking at them.

李仔山因早期種植李子而得名，從坡城路67-33號旁巷子進入，有一條全長3.8公里的產業道路直達山頂，鮮少車輛進入，是一條適合森林浴、健行的步道。遊逛李仔山步道，來回約需1至2小時，沿途兩旁有原始低海拔森林、果園、薑田，充滿芬多精。步道兩旁長有數量眾多蕨類植物，而且筆筒樹叢生，有的還高約兩層樓。

Li Zishan acquired fame because of planting plums in the past. Entering the alley beside #67-33 Po Cheng Road, there is a 3.8-kilometer industry path linking the summit. Few vehicles pass through, so it is a perfect trail for taking a forest bath and hiking. It takes approximately 1- 2 hours for a round trip. There are primitive low elevation forests, orchards, ginger fields along the way, filled with the phytoncidere. There are a great deal of ferns; moreover, pen container trees grow thickly. Some are as high as approximately two buildings. 

望龍埤位於湖山國小附近，是魚類、水鳥、蛙類的自然生態棲息地。三面環山，地下水湧出滿溢的大池塘。湖面上設一座人工島，從湖畔可經九曲橋到達設有涼亭的島上，周圍也有環湖步道，翠綠的山巒與紅色拱橋倒映在湖面上，形成一幅美麗景致。湖畔可騎乘腳踏車及喝咖啡。喜歡釣魚的民眾也可在此垂釣。如果腳力好，可前往湖畔附近體驗長約一公里的環山步道。沿途可吸收芬多精；如果半途走累了，還可在山上的觀景平台上休息，俯瞰湖面全景。

Near Hu Shang Elementary School, the damp is a natural ecology habitat filled with fish, waterfowls, and batrachians. It is also a big pond gushing ground water and surrounded with mountains three sides. A man-made island is lying on the lake and the zigzag bridge leads people to the pavilion on the island. There is a footpath surrounding the lake. The green mountain range and the red arched bridge produce an inverted image on the lake and forms a beautiful view. People may go cycling , fishing and drink coffee around the lake. If you are strong enough to continue the trip, you may hike approximately one-kilometer trail around a mountain to experience and absorb the phytoncidere along the way; if you are tired on the halfway, you may also rest on the platform to enjoy the amazing view.

枕山的美是指其鄉土、農村、田野、山林都是樸實寧靜的。碧綠湖泊，山頂朝日以及壯麗夜景都是魅力的景點。走上大礁溪實驗林場，遠眺整個枕山村莊，是滿足和愉悅的。沿著大礁溪，追著主人騎樓腳踏車，欣賞自然生態是福氣啦!

The beauty of Pillow Mountain is the simplicity and tranquility of its countryside, fields, and mountains. The deep green lake, the summit looking at the sunrise, and the grand night scene are the charms of the scenic spots. Stepping into the experimental forest and overlooking the entire village is satisfied and pleased. Chasing my owner’s bicycle along the river to appreciate the natural ecology is a blessing.

大同村整合部落的自然及文化資源，已開始有生態旅遊行程。它是宜蘭縣發展在地自然生態產業的重要基石與示範區，亦被原民會遴選為自然資源生態區的重要區塊。遊客來部落時，得以進行文化與自然生態的深度體驗之旅，共同保護原鄉的生態資源。泰雅生活館是我們很想進去看的館區，但是不得其門而入。不過，大同鄉崙埤河濱公園的櫻花很美，原住民小朋友很熱情，我們玩的很開心。

Lun Pi tribal village integrates natural and cultural resources and has begun eco-tourism trips for visitors. Selected by the Council of Indigenous Peoples, it is a cornerstone and an important demonstration area of the natural ecological industry in Yilan County. When tourists come to the tribe, they enjoy a deep cultural and natural ecology trip and then know the importance of the protection of ecological resources. We are eager to go in the museum, but dogs are not allowed.  Although we are disappointed, we have a good time with passionate aboriginal children in the beautiful park that is located in the riverside and full of cherry blossoms.

這是一條受歡迎的國家步道，各式各樣的徒步旅行者想要了解這步道的自然世界。一般而言，這步道只有2.4公里，不到一天的時間就可走完。步道的某些部分是為了到達更高的山坡，削減岩石所建造的階梯步道。階梯步道通常只能徒步，所以你最好不要騎自行車來。我們常常爬山，登山過程中，我們最喜歡做的就是跳進溪流，享受清涼的水。快來加入我們的行列。要玩得開心喔！

This is a popular national trail and is used by a wide variety of hikers who want to learn about the natural world. Generally speaking, it’s only 2.4 kilometers and takes less than a day. Some parts of the trail are stairway trails that are constructed by making cuts in the rocks in order to ascend higher slopes. Stairway trails are usually for walking only, so you’d better not ride your bike. My owner is a regular walker, and so do we. During hiking, what we like to do best is jump into the creek and enjoy the cool water. Come and join us. Have fun! 

這是我們第一次賞鳥。台灣有一些令人眼睛一亮的物種，如火冠戴菊鳥，帝雉，台灣喜鵲。你不必成為專家，也可享受賞鳥樂趣。此行的目的是為有經驗的或缺乏經驗的遊客，讓他們在宜蘭就可以看到世界上最神奇的鳥類。這活動讓我們印象深刻，因為大家立刻成了賞鳥好朋友！

It was our first time for birding. Taiwan had a number of very striking species such as the Flamecrest, Mikado Pheasant, and Taiwan Magpie. It was  unnecessary to be an expert to enjoy viewing the birds. The trip was designed for experienced or inexperienced visitors who liked to see the world’s most amazing birds in Yilan. The activity impressed us deeply because we became birding pals immediately !         

宜蘭美麗森林提供鳥類豐富的棲息地。這使得宜蘭縣成為台灣首屈一指的觀鳥區。九股山是理想的賞鳥地點。我們非常幸運地看到國寶的鳥類之一：台灣喜鵲。順便說一下，我們在佛光山靈山寺吃的素食午餐真是美味。非常感謝師姐和志工的熱情好客。

Yi-Lan’s beautiful mountains are rich in forests which provide abundant habitats for birds. This has made Yi-Lan County one of Taiwan's premier areas for watching birds. Chio-Kuo Mountains are ideal sites for spotting birds. We were very lucky to view one of national treasure birds: Taiwan Magpie on the day. By the way, we had a vegetarian lunch at Lin-San Temple. Many thanks for the hospitality of the nuns and the volunteers.

 貢寮三貂角燈塔 San-Tiao Chiao Lighthouse

哇！太棒的地方！在令人驚嘆的美景中，可俯瞰太平洋。燈塔的歷史也是鼓舞人心的喔! 它曾經是一個禁區，但現在開放給公眾參觀。快來欣賞美景，也許你很幸運地看到一群海鳥。海鳥和人類有很長的合作歷史：它們提供食物，引導漁民至魚場補魚，並且導引船員回航。大自然奧妙啊！

Wow! What a place! The breathtaking view overlooking the Pacific Ocean is stunning. The history of the lighthouse is also inspiring. It used to be a restricted area, but now it is open for the public. Come and enjoy the view and maybe you’re lucky to see a bunch of seabirds. Seabirds and humans have a long history together: they have provided food to hunters and guided fishermen to fishing stocks and led sailors to land. What a nature!

桃源谷 Taoyuan Valley

強勁的風造成樹長不過五英尺，因此該地區成為一個美麗的青草覆蓋的坡地。這地區有4.5公里，是台灣東北海岸山區的美麗風景。爬山者可以選擇不同的路徑。我們寧願躺在地上，享受牛糞的氣味。哈！不要覺得噁心！我們就是愛這一味！

The high wind prevents trees from growing over five feet, so the area becomes a beautiful grass-covered slope-land. This section is 4.5 kilometers and gives some great views of Taiwan’s mountainous northeast coast. Hikers have the option of taking different trails. We would rather lie down and enjoy the smell of dung from a bunch of cows. Ha! Don’t feel disgusting!. We just love it!

宜蘭頭城草嶺古道 Tsao-Ling Tunnel

這是台灣北部第一個自行車隧道。單趟需要15-20分鐘。總長度為2165米。你知道我們是如何通過隧道的嗎？我們有四條腿。你呢？租一輛自行車，來挑戰吧！比賽我敢打賭，這場比賽我們會贏。哈！哈！四條腿比兩條腿要快啦！

This is the first cycling tunnel in northern Taiwan.  It takes 15-20 minutes by bike for a single trip. The total length is 2,165 meters. Do you know how we go through the tunnel?  We got four legs to walk.  How about you? Rent a bike and challenge the trip.  Let’s have a race!  I bet we would win. Ha! Ha! Remember four legs are faster than two legs.

        宜蘭跑馬古道 Paoma Historic Trail

啊! 小徑散步是免費的，也是慶祝天氣晴朗的好方法。任何人都可以做到這一點，沒有什麼可失去的，只是會掉幾磅肥肉。呼吸新鮮空氣，並且享受大自然。想有這樣的樂趣嗎？宜蘭跑馬古道就是開始。
